As it is so often said, all good things must come to an end. After 20 years in operation, our Sembawang Clubhouse closed its doors for good on June 2020. It is time to bid our goodbyes to the hidden jewel that was nestled in a far corner of Sembawang.
Built on a rich history and everlasting memories of NSmen, their families, and friends, the clubhouse was the family “go-to-place” known for its annual events and cohesion activities that catered to members of all ages. Throughout the years, the clubhouse organised signature events such as Pets Carnival, Dragonboat Tug-of-War in the pool, and #Terrorween, to name a few.
On occasional days, The Sembawang Clubhouse Committee is especially proud of the tenants of 3O1 Bar & Kitchen, DUITsg, and Hai Bin Prawning for the constant bustling of activities from day to night, with the NSmen catching up over barbecue parties, staycations, and prawning.
“Our patronage went to levels that we never saw before,” revealed Mr Frederick Tan, Chairman of the Executive Committee from 2013 to 2017.
The closing of the clubhouse enkindled sentimental feelings, as expressed by the current Chairman of the Executive Committee for Sembawang, LTC (NS) Sim Meng San quipped,
“With the curtains rolled down on HomeTeamNS Sembawang, this Clubhouse has quietly etched her way into a special place in me. I am deeply thankful for the heart-warming memories that I was once part of. Goodbye, HomeTeamNS Sembawang! You will always have a special place in my memories.”
