Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson once said:

Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work gains success. Greatness will come.

In the case of CPL (NS) Danial Azman, 24, these words were almost prophetic. He has competed in the HomeTeamNS Fitness Ironman competition for the past two years, and was announced champion in two categories this year, in its third edition.

Held at the Festival Arts Theatre at Our Tampines Hub, the competition has always attracted its fair share of bodybuilding enthusiasts. But this year was tough, with more contestants vying for the top spot than in previous years.

Fifty-five models took to the stage, competing in eight categories, including the newly introduced Women’s Sports Model Category. CPL (NS) Danial was overwhelmed with joy – moved to tears, in fact – when he received his trophies for the 170cm Men’s Physique Category and the Home Team NSmen category. His hard work and consistency had finally paid off.

2017 was his year!
