A Timely Tribute – The inaugural launch of the HomeTeamNS Guardians aimed to recognise and honour past and present HomeTeamNS volunteers.

Organised by a team of HomeTeamNS volunteers, the biennial HomeTeamNS Gala Dinner 2019 marked a milestone in history with the launch of the HomeTeamNS Guardians symbol and its tagline “WeCrAFT” – embodying the mission of “We Creating A Future Together”.

Held at HomeTeamNS Bukit Batok, the April Gala Dinner event was attended by nearly 150 volunteers. This was an increase of 33 per cent to date of Home Team NSmen volunteering in HomeTeamNS since 2013.

Gracing the event, guest of honour Mrs Josephine Teo, Second Minister for Home Affairs and President of HomeTeamNS, highlighted the important contributions of committed HomeTeamNS volunteers who have made HomeTeamNS a relevant and preferred choice for bonding for Home Team NSmen and their families.

Mrs Teo also launched the HomeTeamNS Guardians symbol to honour and recognise the contributions of past and present HomeTeamNS volunteers, as well as the Guardians’ Volunteer Network in continuing to involve everyone and serve as a resource panel for HomeTeamNS.

LTC (NS) Sim Meng San, who volunteers in several HomeTeamNS committees, was awarded the Gold Meritorious Award for his contributions. “I am extremely grateful and humbled winning the award, as there are other Home Team NSmen who have also made countless contributions to HomeTeamNS. Through my volunteering years, I have made many friends from both SCDF and SPF, and learnt many new things. I urge fellow NSmen to join us in building camaraderie for all NSmen in HomeTeamNS.”
