ProCom’s new Strategic Location Response (SLR) deployment combines mobility, visibility, and cutting-edge tech, ensuring that officers are operationally ready at all times.
The Protective Security Command (ProCom) is taking public security to new heights — quite literally. As part of its mission to safeguard strategic locations and major events, the Strategic Location Response (SLR) deployment operation was launched. The flag-off ceremony took place on 22 June 2025 and was officiated by Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Victor Ho, Commander of ProCom.

Through SLR, ProCom aims to deliver quicker and more effective responses to public security threats across Singapore — particularly in areas with heavy foot traffic like shopping malls and tourist attractions. SLR officers conduct high-visibility patrols, offering a strong deterrent presence while staying ready to respond swiftly when needed.

At the heart of SLR deployments, are advanced surveillance technologies, including drones and handheld counter-drone systems. These tools were demonstrated at ProCom Headquarters in a simulated incident involving an armed suspect on the upper floors of the building.
Officers quickly launched a drone to track the suspect’s movements, using thermal imaging to locate him and relay real-time visuals back to the Ground Commander — enhancing situational awareness and operational planning.

To counter illegal drone activities, officers also deployed handheld drone-jamming devices, developed in collaboration with the Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX), to safely neutralise aerial threats.

ProCom also unveiled a new fleet of off-road vehicles, purpose-built to tackle challenging environments and transport officers and equipment with ease. “It can navigate varied terrain due to its high ground clearance, enabling us to move over obstacles swiftly,” said Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jaslyn Lee, Officer-in-Charge of an SLR Troop.

Compared to their predecessors, these vehicles offer larger cabin space to accommodate officers in tactical gear and essential operational equipment. Each vehicle is also equipped with a 360-degree camera system, multiple airbags, and a tyre pressure monitoring system to enhance driving safety.

The introduction of SLR represents ProCom’s continued innovation in frontline policing. “We aim to strengthen the SPF’s ability to respond swiftly to public security incidents,” said AC Ho. “Using advanced technologies such as drones and counter-drone systems, we aim to respond more effectively to a wider range of security threats.”
