A salute to Singapore’s lifesavers in the fight against COVID-19

HomeTeamNS-JOM Balestier Clubhouse tenants and guests created an artwork to show their appreciation to Home Team Guardians.

It is no easy feat to be in the frontline combating the COVID-19 pandemic. While our Home Team Guardians continue to wage a head-on battle with the virus to protect the nation, a 200-fingerprint art piece was created at the HomeTeamNS-JOM Balestier Clubhouse to show our heartfelt gratitude towards these brave fighters. The Home Team Guardians included members from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force. And in commemoration of the SPF’s 200 years of service (SPF200), the fingerprints formed the word ‘Salute’.

Along with handwritten ‘Thank You’ notes penned by the well-wishers, the artwork were presented to the JOM Management Committee on 9 March.

Tenants who took part in this heart-warming initiative included Dance Theatre Arts, BazGym Gymnastics School, Aikido Shinju-Kai, Pierre Ooi Photography and Cookyn Inc.

Stronger together: Frontliners are at a higher risk of contracting the infectious virus, and they may also face burnout and exhaustion. Supporting, instead of shunning, them can help uplift their spirits and assure them that we are in this fight together.

“For all the service that you provide this country with, for all the sacrifices you make and for everything you do for us, I just want to say a big, fat Thank You!”

A handwritten note from a well-wisher to our Home Team Guardians
