A journey to be celebrated – The recently held Home Team Festival shone the light on the contributions of Police National Service in keeping Singapore safe and secure.

The 2019 edition of the Home Team Festival (HTF) took place from 22 to 24 November at the Singapore Expo under the theme “Guardians of our Home”.

Featuring a number of booths and exhibitions from the various Home Team Departments, which showcased the professionalism and commitment of Home Team Officers, the event presented different facets of the Home Team.

In Zone 2 of HTF 2019, titled “Our Mission”, one of the highlights among the Singapore Police Force (SPF) displays was the Police National Service (PNS).

The PNS booth celebrated the Police National Servicemen (PNSmen) for their dedication and pride in carrying out their National Service duties to keep Singapore safe and secure.

The booth had two segments – Milestones of PNS and Faces of PNS. The Milestones segment presented an interactive screen where visitors could browse through the different milestones and achievements of PNS over the years. Visitors were also able to learn how the roles and duties of PNS officers have evolved over the course of time.

In the Faces segment, visitors were treated to a panel featuring photos of the past and present PNSmen. The PNS Department had also invited a father-and-son duo to share their inter-generational PNS stories with the visitors.

Additionally, the booth also screened videos of the incredible experiences of several PNSmen.

The PNS journey has indeed come a long way since it began in 1975, and continues to be an integral part of the SPF in maintaining homeland security.
