Team spirit and camaraderie cannot be taught, it can only be built.

Division games are organised throughout the year for our Home Team NSmen and NSFs to challenge their fitness and skills through sports and games. Points are awarded to divisions for well-received participation and extra points are also awarded based on competitiveness position for each competition.

2018 Recap

A total of 110 NSmen from both SPF and SCDF participated in our Most Supportive Division (MSD) Bowling Competition 2018 held on 7 April, at HomeTeamNS Bukit Batok. Apart from our usual competitors from the various land divisions and specialist units from both Home Team Agencies, this year’s event included a family engagement activity – Animal Clay Sculpting by Abrakadoodle. 31 family members were present to show their support to their loved ones and take part in the clay sculpting workshop.  It was indeed an excellent display of great sportsmanship by all bowlers and participants of the event!

2018 Recap

Back for the 2nd year, the Darts Challenge returns with a twist; where divisions had to incorporate left-hand throwers to compete against one another. With the addition of this new rule, participating divisions not only required the confidence, but also alternative strategies to aim for accuracy in winning the darts game.

2018 Recap

What could be more fun than a “tug of oars” in water? A new addition to our Most Supportive Division (MSD) games, Dragonboat Battle involves teams of six rowers attempting to out-paddle across a center line. Divisions turn up the heat on the playing field as teams paddled against each other to clinch top positions in the battle. At this year’s edition, a total of 112 participants took on the challenge, along with their family members who were present to show their support and have fun at our in-house activities held at The Living Space, HomeTeamNS Sembawang, which includes kid crafting sessions, board games, movie screenings and more.

2019 Recap

Coming to its 3rd edition this year, the challenge has been escalated with a twist in the competition format, where participants were only given ONE attempt to climb as many walls as they can in their pre-allocated zones. The challenge not only requires teamwork among the respective divisions, but also excellent strategic planning to achieve the best results. This year, we also engaged the family members of the participants with a fun and bonding Clip ‘N Climb session and Laser Quest after the challenge.

2018 Recap

It was a Fast & Furious affair, as aspiring racers from MSD came together to vie for the top spot at the second edition of HomeTeamNS Wheel You Take Up The Challenge 2018: Karting Edition. Fan favourite challenges from last year – Narrow Plank & Tyre Change – were also back on a much tougher, uphill road. This year’s edition also saw the inclusion of the Figure 8 challenge for motorbikes and of course the 50KPH Go-Kart race. When the dust from the race settled, only the best few divisions emerged as Kings of the Road!

Annual MSD Awards

The Most Supportive Division (MSD) Award ceremony is traditionally held during the HomeTeamNS Annual General Meeting (AGM). Each year, the top three divisions from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) are presented with the MSD Awards to celebrate the camaraderie of NSmen and NSFs, as well as to deepen bonds. An array of competitive activities are organised throughout the year, to challenge their fitness and skills through sports and games. Points are awarded to divisions for well-received participation and extra points are also awarded based on competitiveness position for each competition.

2018 Recap

The Fitness Challenge sifts out the fittest among our men, as the divisions faced off against one another on the tracks of Choa Chu Kang stadium. Participants pushed, crunched and ran hard in the various IPPT stations, such as 2.4km run, sit-ups and push-ups. Not forgetting the 40m linear sprint and 4 x 800m relay run segments. As the dust of battle settled, only the fittest few stood as winners. It was a fierce battle among the men, as they contended for the title of Fitness Challenge Champion!
