QUANTUM FOR EDUCATION GRANT
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
The HomeTeamNS Children’s Education Award 2018 aims to assist eligible HomeTeamNS Members with the cost of their children’s school expenses for the new school year.
Each successful applicant will receive up to $600* monetary award and vouchers amount up to $400* for each eligible school-going child.
Total Monthly Gross Household Income+ must be less than $2,500 OR monthly Per Capita Income (PCI) of $625 and below if Gross Household Income exceeds $2,500.
*Awarded amount will differ based on your child/children’s academic level in 2017
+Gross income is defined as all income derived from employment/business. Inclusive of overtime and allowances
You have to be an existing HomeTeamNS Ordinary+ member to be eligible to apply for the HomeTeamNS Children’s Education Award 2018 for your child/children. HomeTeamNS Member must not be under the employment of MHA, SPF, SCDF or other Home Team Agencies.
+Not applicable for HomeTeamNS Social Members, Associate Members or Family Members (Spouse).
How do I apply?
- Note: Hard copies of the Application forms are also available at all HomeTeamNS Clubhouse Members’ Services Counters
All applications must reach HomeTeamNS latest by 30 September 2018.
Late submissions and proof of posting date does not constitute to proof of submission and thus will not be accepted.
Completed application forms (with all supporting documents) must be submitted either through mail or directly any of our HomeTeamNS Clubhouse Counters.
DO NOT submit your Application Forms via Fax or Email. Application forms received via Fax / Email will not be accepted.
What is Total Monthly Gross Household Income?
Monthly Gross Household Income refers to the gross monthly wages or salaries before deduction of employee CPF contributions and personal income tax for all family members living together. It includes basic wages, overtime pay, commissions, tips, and other allowances.
- Your basic salary is $1,000, including overtime pay for the month of June $200, total monthly gross income will be $1,000 + $200 = $1,200)
- Your Spouse basic salary is $800 with no overtime pay, total monthly gross income will be $800
- Total monthly gross household income is $1,200 + $800 = $2,000
What is Per Capita Income (PCI) and how do I calculate it?
Per Capita Income (PCI) is calculated by taking the total gross household monthly income divided by the total number of family members living together.
- Your Monthly Gross Income is $1,200 and for your Spouse it’s $800
- Total number of family members living together is 5 (including yourself)
- Per Capita Income (PCI) will be ($1,200+$800) / 5 = $400
If my child/children is not a HomeTeamNS member, can I still apply for the Children’s Education Award?
Yes. As long as you are an existing HomeTeamNS member, you may apply for your child/children.
Is there a limit to the number of my children I can apply for?
No, there is no limit. You may apply for all your children.
Can I still apply if my child/children were a recipient of HomeTeamNS Children’s Education Award 2017 or other scholarships/bursaries from other organisations?
Yes, you can still apply for HomeTeamNS Children’s Education Award 2018.
Can I e-mail or fax the application forms over with all the relevant documents?
No. We will not accept applications through e-mails or fax. Please mail them to

How do I check if my application has been received by the Children’s Education Award Department?
Once we have received the application, we would send an email acknowledgement of receipt. If you do not hear from us 2 weeks after you have submitted your application, please email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If my child is a successful applicant for HomeTeamNS Children’s Education Award 2018, what is the value of the award, how will it be presented and when?
A letter will be sent to a successful applicant with more details and instructions on how to receive the award.
