‘An exciting 3D2N adventure trip with lots of great food’, quipped Mr Anthony Wong.
On the early morning of 28 November 2015, Mr Wilfred Yoong flagged off a convoy of 23 participants from Bukit Batok Clubhouse. The convoy drove straight for Sungai Klah hot spring resort, to relax our tired muscles and cooked some boil eggs with the mineral enrich hot spring water. Thereafter, we had dinner at the ‘Lou Wong’ chicken restaurant before checking into the Syuen hotel.
The next day, we made a short visit to the Ipoh Mural Old Town Street art/ wall at Jalan Sultan Iskandar, toured the famous & scenic lake Taiping, and followed by an educational visit to the Charcoal factory. We also went for a cultural tour of the Perak Museum.
“I’m pleasantly surprised to learn that it was the Japanese who taught the locals how to make charcoal from red woods during the 2nd World War”, exclaimed Mr Edwin Ang. A great contribution indeed.
In the evening, we went to the fishing village nearby to shop and basked in the beautiful sunset.
“We both thoroughly enjoyed the fresh seafood, thumbs up!” said Mr Lim who joined the trip with his spouse.
On the final day, a lucky draw was conducted for all participants after breakfast. A delighted Mrs Don Ang said, ” I had went on travel tours for twenty years, and this is the first time I actually won a prize! ”
We then visited the ‘Sam Poh Buddha’ Cave, followed by shopping for the famous & sweet Ipoh “red Pomelo”. In the evening, the participants had more shopping and a sumptuous dinner at Yong Peng, before heading back to Singapore… Home sweet home.
